SOOOO CUTE!!!

My horseback teacher's mare Ellie, had her baby on Sunday night. It's a little black and white filly and she is soooo adorable...These first two pictures my teacher sent to me, but the rest I took.

She really bonded with Mrs. Ginger, because Ellie had the baby outside the little shed, and Mrs. Ginger wanted her inside the shed, so she went out and moved her and in that little amount of time that Mrs. Ginger held her the baby bonded with her, and it's sooo sweet watching her with my teacher.

Mrs. Ginger thinks she might be homozygous. That means that she will always drop pinto foals, but they can only tell by DNA tests...so I think my teacher is going to get some tests done to find out.

So there's no name for her yet, but when they give her one I'll be sure to tell you;o)

St. Patrick's Day...

I wanted to have this done on St. Patricks day...but as you can see, that didn't happen. I know it's really long and usually if it doesn't have pictures no one will read it, but please, Please, PLEASE read it!! Mom helped me a little bit (well actually quite a bit, and Dad did too) so PLEASE read it, then tell me what you think=o)

Saint Patrick, A Catholic?

By Kluane Tozier

I remember a few years ago my Mom talking about Saint Patrick and how it was very likely that he was a Baptist. Being interested in Baptist history I thought I would take a closer look.
Saint Patrick wrote two documents that are recognized by every denomination as being genuine. One was an epistle to the Christians under the king Coroticus, the other one was his Confession also known as Epistle to the Irish. He writes that he was born around the year 389 A.D. in Britain. His father was a deacon and his grandfather was a pastor in the ancient church of Britain. That church was thought to have been one of the churches started when the church of Jerusalem was spread abroad, Acts 8:1-4.
Dr. J. Lewis Smith, in his book Patrick of Ireland Not a Romanist says, “We have in hand now 140 letters of Pope Leo the Great and we have not found a line written by him or any other Pope or any other man rejoicing over the wonderful additions to the Roman Church by Patrick and his disciples.”
Patrick was a missionary to Ireland and in those days any missionary from the Catholic Church were sent by the pope. But in Patrick’s Confession he says that he was called by God, and he wrote nothing about being sent by any one else. Likewise if he had been told by a pope to go as a missionary there would have been some record of it by the Catholics, but again there is nothing.
The Catholic Church has made lots of “saints” throughout the years, but Patrick would not consider himself one of them. In humility he understood, as Paul wrote in 1Timothy 1:15 “…Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” And he started his Confession “I, Patrick, a sinner”. His writing’s never talk about him performing any miracles to warrant sainthood as is believed you must, to be a saint by Catholics.
Patrick was a Baptist; his writings are full of scripture. Baptists have always believed that the Bible is inspired by God and no other writings carry any authority for Christians 2Timothy 3:16, 17. You would search in vain through Patrick’s writings to find any mention of relics, holy places, or any superstitious teaching about the Virgin Mary or the doctrine of purgatory.
Patrick the preacher never mentioned that his followers were saved by participating in the sacraments (baptism or the Lord’s Supper). Baptists have always believed in Salvation by Grace, repenting (turning away) from your sins and trusting in the shed blood of Jesus as the payment for breaking Gods law. Exodus 20:3-17, I John 3:4, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5. Baptism is an act of obedience adding you to the church not the Family of God. Baptizing babies was a trademark of the Catholics and Patrick never wrote anything about baptizing babies, but he did mention baptizing adults.
The Catholics did a good job of trying to make him into a Catholic but he was dead 175 years before they even started writing about him. History shows that there were only two religious organizations in the third century, Baptists and Catholics. Error crept into the church that Jesus built after his death and resurrection. Men began to assume authority that wasn’t given to them by God; this was the beginning of Popish rule. Bible believing churches separated themselves from these irregular churches that eventually became Catholic. Baptist have been called by many names down through the centuries but they can all be traced through their common doctrines as laid down by their founder Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. (The Trail of Blood, by J.M. Carroll)
Taking a look at the writings of Patrick of Ireland, I find no proof that he associated in any way with the Roman Catholic Church, nor do I see that he held to any of their unbiblical doctrines. I can not find that any of the early Pope’s wrote of him in their transcripts. Although much “Blarney” has been attributed to the missionary, I see a humble man, who was a great servant for Jesus Christ.

Excerpts from Patrick's Confession letter:
This is my CONFESSION
"...I render thanks to God, Who has comforted me in all things, that He might not restrain me from the journey on which I had determined, nor from the work which I had learned from Christ my Lord...
"I have a Creator Who knew all things before they came to pass. Because I am very greatly a debtor to God, Who bestowed so great a grace upon me, that multitudes of people should, through me, be born unto God...
"... it becomes us to fish well and diligently, as the Lord admonishes and teaches us, saying: `Follow Me, and I will make you Fishers of men.' Therefore, it greatly behooves us to spread our nets, so that a numerous multitude and crowd may be taken for God, and there may be everywhere clergymen, who shall baptize and exhort the poor and needy people, as the Lord in the Gospel enjoins... `Go unto all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. Whosoever will believe and be baptized, shall be saved; but whosoever will not believe shall be condemned.' (Patrick did not have the KJV, when he wrote this. It did not exist at that time. E.L.B.)
"Whence, then, is it that in Ireland, those who never had knowledge, but always worshipped filthy idols, have somehow lately been made the people of the Lord, and are called the children of God?"...I see myself in the present world that am exalted above measure by God. And I was not worthy, nor such that He should perform this for me, since I know that poverty and calamity much better suit me than riches and delicacies.
"...This is my confession before I die." Patrick.

To appease Aimee=o)

I know this isn't most of you guys favorite subject...but it's my blog and I'm just posting this till I get my other post done=o)
These are the 4 breed of horses that I want the most....of course I would probably settle for anything=o)
This one and the next one are Paints and I always get them mixed up but I think the Paints are a specific breed themselves=o)

These next two are Palominos....I've only seen one Palomino in my whole entire life the I really liked....and I can't find any pictures that look anything like that one looked...so you'll have to settle for these=o)

The next four are Pintos...and I think they are just a color and not a specific breed...but I'm not sure...maybe Tori can tell me=o)

and the last six are my most favoritest ones of all=o) (that's why there's the most pictures of them...) They are called Gypsy Vanners and they are a pretty new recognised breed they've been around for a while. The gypsies bred different horses together to get a draft looking breed to pull their wagons, but still with bright colors ('cause they liked bright colors=o) They look like a draft horse but they aren't as big and they are supposed to be really good family horses and I think they are gorgeous=o)

So that must not have been to bad if you got this far...so maybe horses aren't as bad as you think=o)

Very True....

So I got this idea from Rachel only it's about Alaska instead=o)

You know you're from Alaska when:

  • you find -60 a mite chilly
  • the trunk of your car doubles as a freezer
  • you attended a formal event in your best clothes, your finest jewels and your Sorrels.
  • the kids think that you have to get on a airplane to go on vacation.
  • driving is better in the winter because the potholes get filled with snow.
  • at least twice a year, the kitchen doubles as a meat processing plant.
  • the most effective mosquito repellent is a shotgun.
  • the snowblower gets stuck on the roof
  • a snowmachine is a snowmachine and not a snowmobile
  • everyone plans their weddings around hunting season
  • you know a honey bucket is really a bucket, but it's not really full of honey. (If you don't know, don't ask)
  • you learned to swim indoors.
  • you leave your Christmas lights up, year round, because as soon as it gets warm enough to take them down it starts getting dark enough to put them up again.
  • your bedroom windows are covered with black trash bags
  • you know the meaning of the word "baleen" and it has nothing to do with making hay into large cubes.
  • You open your freezer to take out something for dinner, and are faced with many choices, Pink Salmon, Silver Salmon, Red Salmon, King Salmon, Smoked Salmon, or Halibut!
  • You live in a house that has no front steps, yet the door is 3 feet above the ground.
  • You know which leaves make good toilet paper.
  • You can tell the difference between a chipmunk and a squirrel from 300 yards away.
  • You refer to the 48 states as the "lower 48".
  • You have to wait until 2am to light fireworks because that's the dimmest part of the day on July 4th. (or you wait to do fireworks till New Years and then do them right after breakfast=o)
  • Your idea of formal, is a suit and bunny boots (large sealed Boots good to -60 F)
  • "Vacation" means driving to Chitna to dip net.
  • The last thing you do before going to bed is plugging in your vehicle.
  • You see cars running in the parking lot at the store with no one in it
  • You know all 4 seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Road Construction.
  • Mosquito dope is part of your daily attire.
  • the first aid/survival kit in your vehicle includes: flares, emergency blankets, candy bars, water, bug dope, duct tape (lots of it), 30.6 rifle shells, toilet paper, berry buckets.
  • it's 20 above and everyone's wearing T-shirts, and Flip-Flops
  • the State Troopers make a public announcement on the news telling people to make sure the kids Halloween costumes are big enough to fit over their snowsuits. (this happened just the other day=o)
  • major culture shock sets in on your hour layover in the Seattle airport
  • you know for sure that Alaska is the biggest state.
  • your lipstick is......Blueberry juice!!
  • at least one of your roofs is a blue tarp
  • "turning the fan on in the bathroom" means removing the chinking from the outhouse walls.

Hope you enjoy it....it made me laugh just writing it=o)

My Babies!!!!

I don't know if I mentioned this before or not, but my biggest bunny (Conygan) had babies!=o) They were born Sunday morning, and there are four of them=o) (all hairless, and teeny tiny=o)

This is a little one that's mostly black...I like this one a lot, it's always on the bottom of the pile, and seems to sleep more then the other ones=o)

Sorry these pictures aren't very good quality pictures....but I don't want to get to close, because sometimes first momma bunnies will eat their babies if they smell human on them...so, I don't want to risk it=o)

These were attempted movies, I set the camera right on top of the cage and it kept falling off...so.......that's the funny little part at the end of both of them.....=o)

Now Joyka won't bite my head off any more for not posting these sooner....=o)

The Flood of '67

So...hearing that Fairbanks is flooding, reminded me of the '67 flood, and I was researching it today and wanted to show you some pictures...since most of you guys probably weren't alive, much less living in Alaska then...=o)

I read that the normal rainfall for Alaska in August is a little over 1 inch....but in August of '67 we got over 6 inches in just 5 days!!!
This is on Chena Hot Springs Road...don't ask were, 'cause I don't know...I've just lived here all my life...=o)
This is were the Fairbanks Post Office is now....
The green sign is pointing to were Alaskaland is (or Pioneer Park...to those new to Alaska...)
This is looking at Lathrop High School
Notice the white care almost all submerged...
...and the picket fence

This is the 1st National Bank on Gaffney Road

Look at how far under this house is...it's almost up to the top of the garage door!
I don't know how good you can see this...but see the water mark on the desk....?

This is a picture my Great-Grandpa Seay took during the '67 flood, that is Grandma Seay ( my Mom's Mom's Mom (or my Grandma April's mom=o) and Grandma April's brother, Mark...)

These are some pictures we went and took the other day of the Chena River out on Nordale Road....You probably can't really tell how much it flooded because I don't have any pictures of it before...but use your imagination=o)

Then we drove down to the flood control project and took pictures there....there was a major log jam as you can see from the pictures=o)

Since it was so clear we had to take a picture of the mountains=o)

This beaver swam right up to us....I don't think he even saw us, because he was looking for his house, probaby....=o)

There was a lot of fog, because the river was so high...

These were moose that we saw zoomed all the way in on our camera....

So....I meant to post this about a week ago...but I never got to it, so you have it kind of late=o) I hope you still enjoy it...
